Dave Mason - Austin, Texas - VIP Treatment
What a “large time” we had with Dave and the band at a recent show at Antone’s, a small venue in Austin’s 6th street area. The VIP treatment started with Miss Chrissie handling the arrangements for the show and continued upon our arrival as tour manager/bass player Alex Drizos meet us at the door, showered us with gifts and introduced us to Dave and the band. It was a special night for me and my wife to meet a true rock and roll legend. We talked, had a few photos and then watched another amazing performance by one of the best live bands around. Great vocals, amazing guitar work, legendary songs – doesn’t get much better than that! Thanks to everyone involved and we hope to do it again one of these days.

Last
August my husband took me to see my all-time FAVORITE musician-Dave
Mason. It
was an absolutely beautiful day for an outdoor concert at the beach
and Dave, his bandmates and crew made it the best day ever! It
was an absolutely fabulous concert in and of itself but of course the
highlight was meeting Dave and chatting privately with him before the
concert! Thanks Dave for making my day..actually, for making
my year! Hope to see you again
soon. Jill |
We
listened to a lot of Dave’s music in college a few years ago. So
when the chance to get back together for a Dave Mason concert presented
itself we couldn’t resist. After settling on the date
and location, we came down with a bad case of “you only live
once” and decided to add the Platinum VIP Package to our reunion
plans. It turned out to be a much smarter decision than any
we ever made in college!
We got the royal treatment on June 2nd, 2007 at the Twin Rivers Casino
in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Dave is every bit as personable as
he is talented... and that’s saying something. All our expectations
were exceeded by the meet with Dave and the band. Then it got
better. We had the 4 best seats in the house for a Dave Mason
concert. To
call it a memorable experience
doesn’t quite capture the intensity of the evening.
Every part of the VIP program was great. From emails with the
DM team (especially Miss Chrissie!), to sharing a few laughs with Alex,
meeting the band, pictures, autographs, merchandise, questions, answers,
front row seats, and meeting Mr. Dave Mason personally. Not bad
for four guys from the dorm.
Thank you, Dave, for everything!

I
have been a D.M. fan since I first saw him in Birmingham, england.
He was playing in a little band called Traffic. Over time his bandmates
have included such luminaries as Finnigan, Harrison, Clapton, Kreuger,
and his current awesome lineup. Like Roy Orbison before him, Dave's
voice seems to get better with age.
My wife and I recently had the opportunity of a lifetime and enjoyed
the V.I.P. Experience at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. Dave's
bass player, Alex greeted us and made sure we were treated like royalty.
Meeting one of my favorite singer/songwriter/guitarists, Mr. Mason
was an experience I will never forget. We had a ball and encourage
any fan to step up and do the same.
God bless you Dave! Jeff & Carol |

I've
been following the career of Dave Mason since the mid-70's and
the "It's Like
You Never Left" album, my favorite. I'm not sure if it was Dave's
fantastic songwriting, incredible voice, or the sweet, fluid chords
of that mesmerizing guitar, but the music of Dave Mason is quite
frankly, the best music that I've ever heard. Thirty years and four
children later, I noticed my frequent playing of Dave's music around
the house and in my truck made disciples of the entire family, including
my wife Jennifer. Katie (13), Jackie (10), Maddie (8), and even Sam
(4) were now requesting to hear specific songs and actually singing
along with the GREAT one himself! It had been 10 years since I'd
seen Dave in concert so I packed up the team and made the trip to
the Sunset Theater in Carmel, California, where Dave and his band
were performing. To make the event extra special, I decided to invest
in the VIP experience offered on Dave's site. With the assistance
of Tami Matlaf, it became a reality.
On August 26th, 2006, the six of us had the honor of meeting Dave backstage.
All of us were nervous at first but it was Dave's engaging personality and his
sense of humor that put everyone at ease, as he fielded one question after another.
What a memorable experience it was, especially for me as Dave is and always will
be the standard of which all others will be compared. I came away impressed by
his down-to-earth, easy-going style and his obvious musical genius. I think Dave
was equally impressed with us, as the kids were clearly the youngest in the crowd.
We were rewarded with a show that was off the hook! From the well
deserved standing ovation as he stepped out on stage, through the "Pretty in Pink" drum
solo, to the "Feelin' Alright" finale, it was a night to
remember.
Dave autographed everything we had and posed for photos, leaving
everyone with a smile and comments like, "Hey, I like that guy!".
It is no wonder he is in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.
Thanks to Tami and Alex Drizos for making our brush with fame possible, and thank
you Dave Mason for enriching our lives with music that will outlive us all.

Friday night at the Lakeland
Center with Dave Mason was just awesome! I surprised my wife
Sandy with the VIP Experience for our 25th Anniversary and I asked
if she would please bring me as her guest! We’ve seen Dave
and the Band perform many times, but meeting them in person was just
incredible – a night to remember always.
I’m not sure I can explain the excitement in the air as we arrived
backstage just as Spencer Davis (who opened the show) finished and
came backstage with Dave and the band. Just an electrically charged
magical moment that we shared with our all time favorite Rock n Roll
Hall of Fame Legend – the one and only Dave Mason.
The entire band welcomed us into their world. Dave greeted us
as if we were his dearest friends and Alex went out of his way to make
us feel comfortable and taken care of.
To Dave, Alex, Tami and the entire Band – thanks for the opportunity
to meet you and most of all – thanks for the music – we
love you all.

I actually gave this VIP experience
to my Dad for his Father's Day/Birthday Present. I didn't tell
him he was going to be meeting Dave till the day of the show! He
was so excited to know that he was going to actually meet the legendary
Dave Mason! The show was great as always!! This was our
5th show this year alone!! So we are true fans!!
When it came time to meeting Dave before the show started my Dad was
all smiles. Dave was so nice to both of us and treated us as
old friends. His kindness goes above and beyond the call of duty! I
thanked him for making my Dad's birthday perfect. For this is
something he will never forget.
My father meeting his all time favorite artist really made me a happy
man, and made me feel like an even better son. My Dad and I had
a great time before, during, and after the show. Bill was extremely
nice to us and invited us to stay longer and hang out at the bar. The
whole band was great. They really know how to treat their fans like
friends. I can NEVER thank you enough for everything.
My Dad introduced me to Dave's music when I was only 7, I'm now 25
and I'll continue being a fan till my life is over. And you can
rest assure that my kids will also have the same treatment!!
There is also another HUGE person to thank for this whole setup and
that is Tami Matlaf. She made this whole experience happen. She
went out of her way to make sure everything went perfect. I can
never thank you all enough!
Can't wait for the new album Dave!! The new music is great!! Keep
it coming!! See you next time you visit PA or NJ!!
Thanks so much!!

Dave
Mason rocked a packed house in Kansas City last night, simply awesome!
Thanks to the VIP Experience, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Legend
made my 30th Anniversary present to my wife a once in a lifetime
personal event for us both. Without
question Dave’s warm and sincere attitude; and personal regard
for us exceeded all expectations. The entire band treated me
as though I was an old friend, and indeed I now consider them as brilliantly
gifted friends. Tami is the person who makes it all happen. Her
efforts were relentless to make our anniversary special and because
of her I will do it again at my next Dave Mason concert, without reservation. Through
this opportunity I learned that Dave Mason is a special person in a
way that transcends his genius level talent. If you are a fan,
you absolutely must seize the opportunity of the VIP Experience,
it is the event of a lifetime. |
To the whole Dave Mason Band,
What a great evening in New York City! The VIP experience was
terrific. I've been a fan of Dave's since 1974 and his shows
only get better! The real thrill was introducing my daughter
Katie, 12, to Dave back stage. She has listened to his music
for years and while the youngest at the concert that evening; I believe
she is now a true fan! Got to keep the next generations listening!!!
Dave thanks for your generosity and for being so nice to Katie. See
you on tour again soon! |
Poway Performing Arts Center
Concert - February 25, 2006The VIP package was nothing less than first
class. They all went way out of their way to make sure we were
comfortable and our experience was terrific. Dave was great , that's
right, Dave Mason, yes the Dave Mason, went out of his way to
make sure we were happy!! (here's a rock and roll super star
and legend concerned that two average folks were taken care of). We
met the whole band, and they did the same thing. The support
staff, especially Tami, well, you we can not say enough about what she
did to make the experience a big positive. Everyone was
great (and I'm a hard grader when it comes to these things). Thanks
for every thing,
Chris |
